Bruce Lehrmann Charged With Rape Again
Wednesday Nov 01, 2023
Wednesday Nov 01, 2023
The ex-Liberal Party staffer, Bruce Lehrmann, recently involved in one of Australia's highest ever profile rape cases - the infamous Brittany Higgins rape trial, which collapsed due to jury misconduct, before a retrial was cancelled due to Brittany Higgins perilous mental health, has now been named as a person facing two new rape charges. Which on the face of it, I would have expected to generate a bit more media coverage than it has.

The Voice Referendum: The Aftermath
Wednesday Oct 25, 2023
Wednesday Oct 25, 2023
Now that Australia's attempt to be nice to indigenous people was roundly defeated, a look at the reasons it failed and the behavior and culpability of all involved. Particularly the media - who were happy to complain daily about how the public never understood what the voice was, yet never offered to help explain it to them, despite widely supporting it and being the main conduit for that very public understanding it. Also how the architect of this failure - Labor leader Anthony Albanese - got away with it. The redundant populist right press screamed for his resignation and the whole country went, yeah, nah. Also the damage Liberal leader Peter Dutton has done to himself by owning the NO vote.

Why Do We Put Up With Cyclists?
Monday Sep 18, 2023
Monday Sep 18, 2023
Okay a deliberately inflammatory title. A truer statement would be, why do we always lump cyclists into one group, when there are two main groups. The first are the people getting from A-to-B, minding their own business, casually riding, wearing normal clothes - doing great things for their health and the environment, god bless them. The other group are the Lycra commandos, that go out in packs of twenty, dominated public roads in a way no other user is permitted to do and are some of the most aggressive road users. Why do we put up with Lycra commandos?

The Cost Of Living Crisis - The Inheritocracy And The New Lords And Serfs
Monday Sep 11, 2023
Monday Sep 11, 2023
The cost of living crisis is hammering every nation that bought into the neoliberal economic nightmare - but it's mainly a cost of housing crisis, with the impact of house prices and rent killing our ability to weather any economic storm, as we eviscerated the idea of a meritocracy in favor of an inheritocracy. From the viewpoint of Sydney, rent and mortgages - on the one home you actually live in - are the number one driver of economic hardship, as we struggle valiantly to pay off other peoples investment properties. It's a sin we should not stand for and one that negatively impacts almost every aspect of both life and the economy.

The Taliban - The Thing I Got Most Wrong
Monday Sep 11, 2023
Monday Sep 11, 2023
I've got a pretty good strike rate for getting things right on this channel, whether its election or the political climate, but boy did I get the Taliban wrong - and who knew! When the Americans pulled out of Afghanistan, I said there was no way the Taliban would go back to their old ways and treatment of women, as they sought international legitimacy and personal enrichment. Well, I totally f*****ed that up.

Luis Rubiales And The Arrogance Of Unsackable Men
Sunday Aug 27, 2023
Sunday Aug 27, 2023
The week after Spain's women won the FIFA World Cup has been dominated by an unwanted kiss, placed without asking, on winning player Jenni Hermoso, by the president of the Spanish football federation, Luis Rubiales. Despite the entire planet asking him to go, he's refusing, putting himself ahead of everyone involved, including the World Cup winning side. But he's just the latest in a long line of men, who seem to cling to positions of power no matter what the scandal or how bad their performance, whilst women in the same position are usually sacked in a day. From Scott Morrison to Boris Johnson to former FIFA president Sepp Blatter, a look at some other men who feel entitled to stay on, no matter what.

Trump Is Going To Jail And The Republicans Want Him There Most
Sunday Aug 27, 2023
Sunday Aug 27, 2023
Although it's unthinkable to send a former president to jail, given the crimes Trump is accused of, it will be very difficult NOT to give him jail time, and no one wants that more than the cowardly cuckold Republican party. For the Democrats, Trump in jail is a potential nightmare. Also - 6'3'' and 96Kg - HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Not Everything Wrong With You Is A Condition
Thursday Aug 24, 2023
Thursday Aug 24, 2023
In lieu of the recent TikTok meltdown over a user asking a prospective employer, during a job interview, what the employer would do for their time blindness, as though being perpetually late was an illness others need to accommodate, not everything wrong with you is a condition others need to manage. To quote Christian Slater from the iconic movie Heathers - Everyone's life's got static. But instead of that being an opportunity to improve yourself - we live in an era where others must accommodate your faults,
